WHEN AND WHAT TIME IS THE 3rd MEETING OF THE MINIMUM WAGE FEE COMMISSION?
The 3rd meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission will be held today (December 20, 2022) within the scope of the studies to determine the minimum wage figure that will be valid in the new year. The commission consists of 15 people, with 5 powers from the worker, employer and government.
While determining the minimum wage, all figures on subsistence, especially inflation, will be discussed. Reconciliation will be sought together with the TÜİK data, the Ministry’s survey, the proposal of TÜRK-İŞ and TİSK.
The 3rd minimum wage meeting will begin at 14:00. The meeting will be closed to the press. A statement from the parties is expected around 16:30.
HOW MUCH WAS THE MINIMUM WAGE 2022?
The minimum wage increased by 50.5 percent from 2,825.90 TL to 4,253.40 TL in January 2022. While this increase was the biggest increase in half a century, the minimum wage was increased in July upon the instructions of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, after global inflation destroyed the purchasing power of employees. The minimum wage increased by approximately one hundred 30 percent in July to net 5,500.35 TL.
The minimum wage is applied as 6,471 TL gross. The total cost of the minimum wage to the employer is 7,603.43 TL for a worker. Of this, 6,471 lira is the gross minimum wage, 1,003,1 TL is social security premium, 129,42 TL is employer unemployment insurance premium.
